Basic Pistol

Basics of Pistol Shooting (NRA)

This is an introductory course for brand new shooters or a refresher for people who haven’t fired a pistol in a long time. This instructor-led course is based on the NRA’s Basics of Pistol Shooting and focuses primarily on introducing the student to the safe handling and operation of a handgun. This class proceeds at a very friendly pace and is interactive. By the time the student is handling real pistols, they will have a complete understanding of how to safely do so.

NRA’s Basic Pistol course has, for decades, been the introduction point to handgun ownership for Americans. Revised over the years to keep up with new techniques and technology, the course is a truly comprehensive introduction to firearms and firearms safety. This course is frequently attended by students who are not yet comfortable with firearms or have never been exposed to them. All instructors are certified by the National Rifle Association (NRA) and approved to teach the Basics of Pistol Shooting curriculum.
